I feel like the holidays came and went this year...we try and prepare, shop til we drop (in my case Amazon was my bff this year) wrap presents, put up a tree, decorate the house, baked yummy treats, and join in the holiday festivities...it all sounds so easy right?
Not this year...I still did my best to do all of the above, but add in a full work week, a toddler that is attached to your hip, a baby growing inside my belly that has caused me countless days and nights of morning sickness (feeling better by the way...finally) and making sure my house is kept in working order AND still being the best wife I can be. (I know I have been a handful lately). When all was said and done...Christmas morning came and went, and at the end of it all...we looked around and were so thankful for the moment. It's not about all of the extras...we need to remember to live in the moment, count your blessings, and be thankful for just being in the moment.

What is Jack into these days...what is he not into these days!
Happy Halloween from our little monster
One of the neighbors went all out...can't wait to see what they do for Christmas! |
Jack had so much fun running up and down the streets. We didn't do any "trick or treating" this year but we made sure to walk the neighborhood and look at the decorations, and see all the kids in their costumes. He will be ready next year for sure!
The Chavez family is growing
We are very excited and feel so blessed that our family is growing. Baby Chavez will arrive sometime in the beginning of June. This pregnancy has been completely different from Jack. I am moody (according to Jude and my sister Kim), very tired and have enough morning sickness for 5 women! I am 12 weeks today and starting to feel a little better. No crazy cravings...actually this time around certain thoughts of food make me sick. Actually right now thinking about it as I am typing it is making me sick...lol So on that note I will post some pics soon. As of right now not much to show for.

and so it begins...
I never thought this day would come, well not until he was atleast 4 and starting preschool that is! The night before Jack 1st day of daycare I was a mess...but I figured I would do what mom's do best..shopping that is. We went and bought all the necessities a lunch box, new sippie cup, new shoes (slip on's), snacks, and of course labeled everything with "Jack". That night we had a talk about what to expect, and assured him that mommy and daddy will always be there right after work to pick him up. We read our bedtime story and off to bed we went.
Jack woke up bright and early, took a bath, brushed his teeth, got dressed and off to Luz's we went. To my surprise we arrived at Luz's Daycare walked right in, a little unsure but no tears. Jack started talking with the other kids, we said our goodbyes and holding back my tears, Jude reassured me that he was in good hands and he was going to love it. Luz's had a full day of outside playtime, music time, and of course story time. Luz said that Jack was the best first day baby she has ever had. Jack seemed to play well with all his new friends (Addison and Finley) took his nap like a champ, but rest asure he was ready for mommy and daddy to come home and pick him up. When we arrived he was all grins and talked the entire way home (Jack babble that is) telling every detail of his day.
Jack seems to be having a great time! |
